Macbeth
This week, the pupils in Year 7 performed Samuel Laycock’s very first ‘Shakespeare Showcase – Macbeth’.
It was fantastic to welcome so many parents back into school, thank you for taking the time to come and we hope you thoroughly enjoyed the show.
The pupils used the Talk for Writing approach to learn the story which they retold in their class groups. They learnt songs to accompany the story, some of our very brave pupils even sang solos and small group sections (not a dry eye in the house.)
Each class produced a film to show the wonderful work that has been going on in English, art and history all linking to Macbeth.
We saw a hilarious version of ‘Horrible Histories’ and an ‘exercise with Macbeth’ film.
Some pupils had created short sketches showing key points in the story and there were some very scary eyeballs linked to the witches.
A huge thank you must go to the year 7 staff, without whom this would not be possible.
