Half Term Blog – 24.2.23
We hope you’re all having a restful half term and that you’re looking forward to getting back to it next week.
To help you get in the mood for more learning and experiences, here’s a quick look at what we were up to last week.
Starting with the assembly, which was all about ‘politeness…’
8C wanted to find out what it meant to be polite. Being polite means being aware of and respecting the feelings of other people. They wanted to test how contagious smiling was, and did an experiment around school smiling at staff and pupils to see if they smiled back.
The experiment was successful and they received lots of smiles back.
Elsewhere, the Digital Pathway visited the Power Up exhibition at Manchester MOSI. The Power Up exhibition was a special event showing the history of gaming!
The whole of Year 9 visited the Blue Planet Aquarium in Ellesmere Port. This was arranged to fit in with their current Humanities unit on Oceans.
The performing arts pathway welcomed Rebecca from Oldham Coliseum, who ran some workshops on directing with our Year 9 classes.
Fancy some more of the same?
We’ll see you back next week for the start of Spring 2!
