A bit of everything!
At Samuel Laycock, we pride ourselves on having a diverse curriculum and on providing a personalised offer for all of our pupils.
That offer has been perfectly evidenced this week in our Facebook updates.
Let’s have a round up to see how we’ve done ‘a bit of everything’ this last couple of weeks…
Our year 8 classes visited George St Chapel, where they took part in some real experiential learning about the Victorian times. Living the experience is such a good way to delve into a time period. They got dressed up and took part in a number of different activities. It looked like such good fun!
Elsewhere we’ve been focusing on our mind and body. We are learning that a healthy body and a healthy mind go hand in hand.
Some of our KS3 pupils have been learning to code. They have used the PC’s and ipads to build programs using code with a variety of apps.
This week has also seen a year 8 class visit a garden centre to buy seeds and pots as part of their careers enterprise lessons.
So, in a nutshell, that’s Victorian visits, health and wellbeing, coding and entrepreneurship!
How’s that for a diverse offer?!
Time for a quick reset over the weekend and then we’ll be back for more on Monday!
