This week at Samuel Laycock (28.3.23)
Another action packed week here at Samuel Laycock.
Two classes of year 10 and 11 pupils not only walked up to Hartshead Pike, but also walked round Knott Hill Reservoir; which is more than three miles in total.
Both days were great with good weather and exemplary countryside behaviour (though there was some horsing around!)
A group of 23 pupils from both KS3 & KS4 participated in the School Games Indoor Rowing event and were tremendous!
Every single one of them came back with a winner’s medal and the majority winning GOLD!
9F worked very hard to create this week’s assembly on the theme of ‘communication and equality’.
They focused on signing and how this helps to give a voice to people who struggle to talk.
We spent one day learning all about Earth Day! This included researching and finding out about what it is and why we have it.
We found out about Greta Thunberg and what she is striving to achieve. We identified ways in which we can help our Earth and look after it!
Time for a rest this Bank Holiday Weekend!
Whatever you’re up to, have fun and stay safe!
