This week (in photos) – 23.6.23

We have to start this round up with a reminder about our cheerleaders…

On Sunday 18th June our Cheerleading Team competed in the ‘UKCA National School Cheer Championships’ at Belle Vue Sports Village. Twenty-Eight schools from around the country attended to compete in this prestigious competition.

Our Cheer squad, SLS Stars competed in KS4 Disability Cheerleading and Pom Dance. The competition was strong, but our amazing pupils worked as a team, communicated effectively and trusted each other immensely to win 1st place in both categories.

Elsewhere, we’ve seen 7J makling the most of the sunny weather and enjoyed working in teams, as they completed a mental maths water balloon race!

You may also have seen that all of our year 8 pupils went on a trip to the Imperial War Museum as part of their history topic on World War One.

It was a really interesting trip with lots of things to see.

As always, the pupils were a credit to the school.

Finally for this week, the Digital Pathway hosted their annual photography gallery for parents, staff and classes to enjoy.

The theme of this year’s photography is “Is it Grim up North?”

We are hoping that our images will prove what a beautiful place the North is.

During the year we used our creative photography skills and the DSLR cameras or iPads to take some stunning photographs of various locations in Manchester, Blackpool and Yorkshire.

Have a lovely weekend, everyone!
