This week… (14.7.23)
A very busy end to the academic year is just getting busier and busier, but that’s just how we do things at Samuel Laycock!
We’re all looking forward to a well deserved summer break, but this week has been packed full of activities, learning and experiences, including:
Digital Pathway have continued their project with Simon from Digital Advantage.
We have been busy preparing questions and interviewing staff, pupils and parents.
We have been given roles of interviewer, photographer, film producer and final editor and the finished videos are looking great!
Behind the scenes, pupils have been continuing with their research and website building in preparation for our final day on Monday.
The final project will be showcased next week and we can’t wait!
Tameside SEND Schools Arts Hub
We took part again this year in the annual “Retreat to the Exhibition” at Thomas Ashton school last week.
This is in aid of local charity, Reuben’s retreat, who provide support for families of children with complex needs and for bereaved families.
Horticulture Pathway Trip
The horticulture pathway had their end of year trip on Thursday.
They went to Trentham Monkey Forest in Stoke on Trent and watched the monkeys being fed by one of the people that worked there, who told them lots of facts about them.
Another busy week is coming next week, and we’ve got the summer fair which takes place on Thursday 20th July from 10am until 11:30am.
Rest up over the weekend and let’s finish the academic year in style!
